A few years ago, when the Cadillac Ciel Concept was merely a sketch on paper, Cadillac Advanced Design’s Christine Ebner set out to find the perfect lumber to accent the car’s elegant interior. She found it in a 300-year-old olive tree that had collapsed in a storm out in Naples, Italy that was at the time being preserved by Hearne Hardwoods in Oxford, PA.
The aged specimen of natural beauty had to be measured and cut with surgical precision every time, lest Cadillac’s design team waited another 300 years to find something like it. To read more about the tree’s journey, and the skills needed to carve it into the intricate pieces featured in the cabin of the Ciel, visit the source through the link below.

Maybe one of the Cadillac buyers had grown up with this tree?
one of the funniest comments i’ve ever read on this blog, but hey, i resemble that comment!
I just noticed it. Nice, @gm wisdom seeker! 🙂
Are you refering to Bulgari the desighner? I think He’s an Italian and I know he’s a GM/Cadillac fanatic. I wonder if there is a connection?
