British publication Auto Express seems to have the inside scoop on the upcoming premium mini car from Opel/Vauxhall. Currently going under the alias of “Junior,” (which could end up being changed to “Allegra” upon launch) the car is expected to be unveiled a year from now during the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The vehicle is expected to compete with premium subcompact cars such as the Fiat 500, Audi A1 and MINI Cooper.
AE also noted that the Junior project is completely different from another supermini car in development, which will take a more frugal position and compete with upcoming models such as the Volkswagen Up! when it launches sometime in 2013, though this seems like a slight reach at the moment.
