Get ready, ‘Merica. Chevrolet looks to launch its mousiest machine in your market come early 2012. And, as evident from the latest spy photos, it will come sporting a mild refresh — which is expected to be global. But aside from the visual updates, just what will power the U.S.-spec version?

Looks like styling getting more conservative 4 front end, prbly a good thing. Hopefully interior becomes more refined as well. An engine with atleast 110 hp and decent torque, sweet….
About 11,800 for LTZ sign me up…
just drop in the 1.8L and it’ll do fine.
No. Make the 1.4 liter Chevy Turbo engine an option. Sparko-Eco! Probably would get close to 45-50 mpg in combined city-highway.
Meant to add a SIX-SPEED manual of course on a Spark Eco 1.4. The five-speed manual is already dated. Why not the latest mechanicals for this car?
Looks like spark will get a 1.2 Liter with a combined 40 mpg…
Yeah, if they implement the engine, which is only rated at 80 horsepower. They’re going to have to do better than that.
Manoli, ya I just saw an article stating 80hp with the 1.2. Yikes even 4 a city car that seems rediculous, unless the price will be below 10 grand.
It will probably be in the $11,000s if you consider the price of the larger Sonic. As for the 80 hp… hopefully they surprise us with a new turbocharger setup.
