In a class-action lawsuit that’s turned out to be a bit more complicated than most, a determined trio of 2007-2008 Chevrolet Impala owners filed suit in U.S. bankruptcy court to sue Motors Liquidation Co. (a.k.a. “Old GM”) on the grounds concerning faulty rear-alignment issues that have lead to excessive tire wear.
Believe it or not, GM’s lawyers successfully argued that the company could not be held liable based on the fact that the vehicles were built during the period of “Old GM.” However, the company recognized and repaired defective Impala police vehicles that were built in the same time frame.
If the owners win out, “Old GM” will be looking at footing millions of dollars in repairs for the 423,000 2007-2008 Impalas on the road today.

Here is the thing, they will win, truthefully this might be the proper step channeling it back through old GM. Still horrible press.
Originally there were a few complaints, when the lawyers yelled class action the numbers grew from 2 to 400,000+
I sorry that I don’t know. What is the problem with the 2007-2008 Impala?
Excessive tire wear.
Good luck! Old GM, MTLQQ is valueless. Like the bond holders, the old GM stockholders were bilked by Czar Obama and his union buddies. If Impala owners want the cash, best they sue the White House… you know, the “spread the dough around bunch.” Seriously, folks, get a grip, you can’t get blood from a stone. Remember?
It’s too bad that”New GM” is claiming imunity from “Old GM”s mistakes.
I guess they are not thinking of “Future GM”
Yes, I “had” the problem. I went from Ohio to Florida, and ripped the rear tires inside inner tred down to the cords. Yes there is a fix this was to be done at seven hundred miles. This was a simple notch out and adjustment. The service manager new the problem and dealt with it. I was and am not pleased with General Motors. Dealership gets an A. The Police cars are different.
