Chevrolet WTCC Race Team Clinches Manufacturers’ Title

The Chevrolet World Touring Car Championship racing team has earned their second manufacturers’ title in a row thanks to another season of unrelenting dominance — and there’s still 3 more rounds of racing to go.

To put it in numbers Chevrolet clinched with 734 points, while BMW trails distantly in second with 433. SEAT than follows with 393 points, while Volvo is a lowly 126. Go Chevy!

  1. Can we get this engine (or tune up) in the street version please?!

  2. Wisdom seeker, the secret is in catching the 3series in the rain and passing them in corners understeering while they spin out, 138bhp is plenty for a 3100 lb car, in the early 1980’s this would have been a muscle car, it’s got 10 bhp more than a Citation X-11 and John Heinracy used to beat up on 944’s and 328i’s with those.

  3. Oh yeah I’ve test driven a 2012 Cruze RS with a 6sp, it kind of reminds me of the1996 Saturn SL 2
I used to have but with the tight body and presice steering of my 2005 Caddy CTS.
Much like my old Saturn the Cruze’s 1.4 Turbo seems to fight above it’s weight as far as passing acceleration, I really like the gearing, it seems to pull much harder than the Ecco and the EPA highway for the RS manual is 38mpg.

    1. Yeah, the Cruze’s “tightness” is outstanding. It’s the one thing I thoroughly enjoy and am delighted by every time I get behind the wheel of my 2011 2LT. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about the engine… I wish there was an option for a high-performance model with the 2.0 turbo, even if it’s the low output variant seen in the boosted Regal. Then I would have no complaints. Whatsoever. Everything else is nearly perfect.

  4. Man that’s funny! I just seen a Citation at a Service Garage too and haven’t seen one in years and years! Good Going Chevy and there drivers! Now lets get those Hatchbacks produced and in Racing and bring them to the States! Guess were going to see them next year in the States too with the V8 Supercars and DTM’s! Wow Now all we need is to get the WRC to visit here!
