Rendered: A Chevy Camaro Crossover

Penned by Mexican designer Victor Uribe who will soon begin working at Opel/Vauxhall (GM Europe), this is one example of a crossover inspired by the Chevy Camaro.

Here’s Victor’s take on the design:

This concept could be Chevrolet’s answer to other cars like the Land Rover Evoque, Citroen DS Highrider or even the LM Rally fighter. It’s a compact (yet imposing) vehicle inspired by the Camaro, whose bold character is interpreted in this concept with a more practical orientation. Designed for everyday driving and sub-par road conditions of developing countries (India, Brazil, Russia, Mexico), this car could be a hit for people who want an exciting ride, no matter where they have to go.

The GM Authority Take

A crossover based on the Camaro platform may or may not happen… but sometimes, it’s healthy to dream. And when we consider that the upcoming Alpha platform will underpin the next-gen Camaro as well as several Cadillacs (like the ATS and CTS), a low-volume Camaro-esque crossover may end up being possible. More realistically, however, we’ll probably see Camaro design cues sprinkled across existing Chevrolet models (like the Malibu, Silverado, and Equinox).

      1. You are playing with fire Mr. Luft. The Camaro is a thing of beauty. All this screams is Nissan Murano CrossCabrioletabomination. If they were to do something like this on that platform for handling purposes then I would hope they wouldn’t style it just like the Camaro.

        1. Am I really playing with fire? Really? Let’s take it easy and keep things in perspective before going off the deep end — we’re talking about a rendering… and a pretty cool one at that. Nothing less, nothing more.

Not fire. Or anyone’s personal well-being.

  2. This is a nice, clean and up to date design. However, Chevrolet please keep your design unique between models, don’t make all models look like Camaro.
When Dodge came out with a Charger in 2005, it looked so good that they wanted other models to look similar, we all know how ugly the Avenger came out.

  3. Thx for sharing this I love concept sketches and interpritations, if this is what Alex produces when playing with fire give him more matches. Love the concept the front fascia becomes even more agressive and more refined maybe hinting at future design languages.
