Cadillac is a General Motors brand offering luxury vehicles across 50 countries and territories, with most sales taking place in North America. Founded in 1902 by Henry Leland, a master mechanic and entrepreneur, Cadillac is the second oldest active American automobile brand behind Buick. Cadillac was named after Leland’s ancestor and city of Detroit founder Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac and the brand’s crest is based on a coat of arms that Antoine de la Mothe had created at the time of his marriage in Quebec in 1687. Most recently, Cadillac has transformed into a performance luxury brand led by advanced performance technology and engineering.
