Why is there no BLUE color?
Benben — the blue will be added as part of an interim update.
Black, LTZ turbo, 6 speed sunroof, love the leather… My mind is changing on this car…
Why, what did you think of it before?
Alex- Honestly when it came out in the autoshows a couple of years ago I liked what I saw especially the RS concept, but recent preproduction pics and even the price has had me questioning its legitimacy in the marketplace. It appeared to be less refined as far as the sheetmetal and overall Exterior design language. My feeling is that the front end is going to be a hard sell for some people, where other more recent chevys have a stronger more holistic design language (the cruze). Even the sparks design language flows well throughout. Anyway I will wait to see for final verdict.
It is growing on me though the config helps…
I hate the Aveo, and haven’t seen a car in this class I’d own made by GM in over a decade. The Sonic is the exception. It made me want one, and I don’t like compact cars. Switch the color on the one GM Authority made to red and I’m in. The interior is slick, and even the doors open and shut nicely.
Absosmurfely. Add to that the fact that the Sonic isn’t underpowered (as the Cruze is) and that it’s built on a new world-class platform… And we’ve got a winner.
I do wonder if/when MyLink will make its way to this little guy. Then it will be perfect!
I think perfect would be a turbo 1.4 liter or even better a turbo diesel.
Turbo 1.6 so it can take on the Fiesta ST 🙂

OMG the base radio is hideous, totally destroys the nice interior. I was absolutely shocked at horrific and dated the radio is, it is huge too, uhg… and then it is horribly framed by the dash… Ugh Good Grief come on…
I was looking at LS models with the base radio on autotrader Yikes absolutely hidieus is that from a 1984 Cavalier, give me a break… The upgrade radio is actualy a whole different fascia on the dash and is a zillion times nicer… Kill the base radio please, better not to have a radio…
I absolutely love this. I was reading a review about the sonic from the Johnny Londoff Chevrolet blog and it mentioned all the different configurations you can have with a sonic. Just a fun new way to pick out a car!
Am I the only one who is horrified by the base radio…
Not really, but why go base when a fully decked LTZ hatch runs under $20k?
Not all of us can afford the LTZ package…
The radio looks fine to me. Not too many buttons, clean and simple. Speedo and Tach are were the actions is at.
As long as it comes in blue, and according to the brochure it does, I’ll take mine in LTZ.
