Video: Fox News Pundit Neil Cavuto Really Hates The Chevy Volt

Why? Because, well… “you have to plug it in.” And “it will lead to divorces.” Honestly, there’s nothing more you can do while watching the montage video below that perfectly showcases the ignorance of Neil Cavuto other than to simply laugh.

  1. “I will never drive a car you have to plug in… it’s stupid, like a big ol’ matchbox thing.”

Well, Mr. Caputo — you should try driving a Volt… because you don’t have to plug it in. And since when do you have to plug in a matchbox?

Stupid and misinformed. Caputo should star in a Jackass episide.

  2. He has to be one of the most moronic people on tv now, if he would stop flapping his lips around so much, maybe someone could tell him it has a gas engine as well lol

  3. Will I was going to watch the video until I saw the Media Matters logo on the bottom right corner. Was there not a video loaded up on Youtube, or did you actually take MM’ reporting and video as th story? It it’s the latter i’d find aother source in the future. MM is no longer credible.

    1. How is it not credible? These are clips from his show? He’s actually that dumb.

      1. JeremyK, i never saw the video so i’m not actually commenting on the video itself. What i was referring to is Media Matters. I was saying that Media Matters has no credibility in my opinion. They were once suppose to be a watchdog for media bias. But now their sole mission is to “destroy FoxNews”. That, to me, is no longer their raison d’etre. I don’t know anything about Neil Cavuto other than he’s a business guy on Fox. But i won’t give Media Matter my time no matter if they try to tell me the sky is blue – that’s how much i don’t believe them – So much so that i won’t even watch a video that has their stamp on it. But after reading all the comments, it looks like the video itself is a montage of Mr. Cavuto being negative, and i do find it sad that they dont’ know all about the Volt. I think GM should try and clear this up by going over to them and setting them straight. 🙂

  4. I’d rather plug in every night at home in my own garage, than go to the gas station every week.

If we all drove electric cars and somebody came along with the idea of an ICE that you have to fill with a volatile liquid fuel, we’d think that was stupid.

  6. I just can’t bear to watch Bluto Cavuto! Where is Popeye when we need him? I mean as long as we’re giving cartoonish characters the floor why should the heavies get away with crimes against reason?

  7. I’m not sure why anyone thinks Neil Cuvato or Fox News has any credibility. Fox instructs its on-air news models and opinionators to find ways to downplay, discredit or cast doubt on anything (including EV technology) that may make people believe that post-industrial revolution rises in levels of pollutants such as carbon dioxide have any man-made origin. You know, it’s just normal weather patterns and God gave us this earth to use as we please until the Rapture.

I’ve driven the Volt and it’s a very credible ride for most daily driving. If he’s having troubles with the “plug-in” concept then he has other troubles. If he thinks it will lead to divorces, maybe he’s projecting something about his own marriage on an inanimate object.

Prices will eventually come down and the extended range nature of these types of vehicles will be greatly enhanced. The technology has to start somewhere.

I think Fox is still angry about the GM/Chrysler bankruptcies that were taxpayer financed because no commercial bank or hedge fund would provide the necessary interim financing. Fox is also angry about the government subsidies by way of the tax credits for alternative energy/advanced fuel technologies. In Fox News’ world, we should have bailed out the banks to prevent a worldwide economic calamity, but let the domestic auto industry collapse. It’s just not a very “fair and balanced” view of things.

  8. I have to say that most media instalations in this country provide sensational garbage for news, unlike GM Authority where I can always get the facts about what matters the most, GM and there rise to world domination of the auto industry, ha anyway, the Volt will prevail in the long run.

  9. Fox News is ridiculous. But, Fox can’t even get any of the X Men movies right, so why would we even think they could get “real life” stuff right? Pure ignorance!!

  10. I wonder what vehicle he drives if he even does! Whether you plug it in a socket or plug a fuel pump knozzle in gas tank filler. What’s the big deal? And yeah it has a gas motor too so sounds like he is just trying to make trouble and no sence at all. About all he has maybe a little credibility is the cost of the car itself but thats it! It’s a Great looking car though! I think it would be even cooler with glow in the dark paint That would be wild! LOL

    1. Not only does the Volt look great, that car is cool as hell. I’d take the Volt over any car made right now after driving it. It’s comfortable, super quiet, the interior is spot on with nice materials, and it’s shockingly quick.

  11. I love my new Chevy Volt muscle car. The gasoline engine represents a stagnation in auto technology being over 100 years old now. GM has had the courage to launch a truly new type of car that is advancing the automobile into the digital, computer and information age with a simpler and more powerful drivetrain. There are no words to convey the new driving experience that an electric drivetrain gives you. No gas car can be this fun. You have to drive one and then you will get it. Hi-tech, smooth and powerful, the Chevy Volt is a one of a kind car, invented and built by some crazy smart Americans at GM. After 11,000 fun battery electric only miles I still look forward to driving my Volt every day. Let’s not politicize Automobile invention and technology. The electrification of the automobile is a forgone conclusion as an electric drive car is simply a better car. My car runs on American made electricity and almost no foreign oil. I’ve used 21.5 gallons in my Volt since January this year! I like driving my Volt more than my 3 series BMW. It reminds me of the fun I use to have in my 1965 GTO. Without the smog!
