“Invisible” 1939 Pontiac Goes For $308,000 At Auction

Back in 1939, the minds of Pontiac thought up something completely original to be displayed at GM’s Futurama that would be something the world could expect in the coming years from the automotive industry. What they built was a one-of-a-kind Deluxe Six with a body made completely of transparent Plexiglass, which fabricated by Rohm & Haas.

Nowadays we simply refer to such things as concept cars, and these unique pieces of art can go for giant buckets of money at auctions. This ghostly Pontiac just happened to sell for an impressive $308,000 during this past weekend’s RM Auction’s St. John’s auction in Michigan.
