Here’s your rumor for the weekend: Britain’s Autocar has made the claim that the next generation Opel/Vauxhall Ampera will make its debut in 2015, and simultaneously “costing significantly less than the current model and featuring a more radical design.” And chances are if that’s true, we can expect the next generation Chevrolet Volt to show up in the same time frame as well.
Considering the 2015 window seems about the right time for a next generation model, there is still very little to go off of other than Opel CEO Nick Reilly stating he hopes that “this first car will establish itself as a market leader, and we’ll be able to capitalise on that with a cheaper, more expressively designed second generation model.”

most likely will be sooner for both chevy and opel the designs are being frozen now and with anything hightech replacement cycles are normally shorter that is the Apple tie in to chevy just like the cruze getting some significant upgrades this year and more next year you will see this from gm in the foreseeable future. you guys will like it more to report on, harder for the competition to keep up.
