Just last week, be brought you our first look at the interior of the 2013 Chevy Malibu, including the much-awaited Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system. This week, the folks at Chevy released a video showcasing certain features of the system, including voice recognition support for Pandora and XM radio stations as well as the ability to browse phone contacts right on the screen (or dial using voice commands).
MyLink will first debut on the 2012 Equinox and Volt, followed by the 2013 Malibu, where it will be standard on the ECO, LT, and LTZ trim levels.

Can’t wait for this to come out!
Right there with you. I wanted to buy a Cruze 5 months ago but I’m now waiting for the MyLink in the 2012s.
Yeah, you’re not the only one! Unfortunately, I already bought my Cruze… without MyLink 🙁
Can’t you just trade it in?
Do you guys know if MyLink will be able to play songs on an iPhone/Android using voice commands?
Good question. I know it will be able to use voice commands to play XM radio stations… not sure about iPod/iPhone songs. I hope so, though, since SYNC can do it!
I was actually wondering this myself. I’m pretty sure the answer is yes, but I’ve sent in an official question to the folks at GM for confirmation. Will comment back when I get a reply.
Nice! Thanks Alex!
How about the ability to update in the future? I know SYNC owners can download firmware update and stick it into the car to update.
It will — read the Malibu Deep Dive that Alex linked to in the article above…
Just like the Onstar thing in the Cruze only available in the US ????
hope this works much better than the current sync
What’s wrong with SYNC? Other than the optional MyFordTouch interface being a bit slow at times, it’s the best infotainment product out there! The VW system is really good as well, although I haven’t used it as much as I’ve used SYNC.
There are/were some complaints about the complexity of MyFordTouch — but I don’t think that they’re valid or that they apply to everyone. For the most part, MyFordTouch is great — but a little slow as Alex said.
I think many older non-tech-savvy users complain about the complexity…
there were also complaints about the SYNC where it has glitches of when people say certain tags… the system doesn’t respond or listen..
Meh. All software has bugs. Nothing they can’t fix with a software update. Point is, it works 99 percent of the time…
