Earlier this week, General Motors announced that it gave Massachusetts-based A123 Systems the supplier bid to build battery cells for future electric cars. The very same day, a report was released stating that the Cadillac Converj plug-in program was back online. Coincidence? Hardly.
In a report from the Boston Business Journal, analysts believe that General Motors is contracting A123 Systems to build batteries specifically for the Converj, while sticking with LG Chem to supply batteries for the Chevrolet Volt.
