For a second there I thought this was going to be an announcement for an AWD Sonic. Still, looks like a fun car, just not as fun as it would be with AWD.
Yeah, that would be awesome… but won’t happen until at least the Cruze (and the Delta architecture) get AWD.
That said, I’d love to make one of these trips myself. Soon enough, soon enough!
JeremyK you should have known better than that! This is General Motors we are talking about. While I love them, AWD offered in this segment when it’s not available in the Cruze or Malibu? I dont think so. Besides isn’t ‘XDrive’ trademarked by BMW?
Even if xDrive is trademarked, it only applies to a certain set of items (goods or products). So as long as Chevy doesn’t make a Sonic called xDrive, they’ll be alright.
Now, how about some all wheel drive o the delta platform?
Could it be that they called it the “XDrive” because of their wish to appeal to Generation X (and Y) with this car?
I have to say, I personally am so proud of these engineers. They obviously have worked tremendously hard and have been very focused on their mission. It’s very inspirational to watch these reality videos. Again, 5 star ratings for the Sonic team. I can hardly wait for the Sonic RS. I’ll wait a year if I have to 🙂
