Detroit-Hamtramck Plant To Run 3 Shifts For The First Time Ever

General Motors’ Detroit-Hamtramck is preparing to do something for the time in its twenty-six year history by running three shifts. As a reminder, the plant will produce the Chevrolet Volt and its relatives, the upcoming 2013 Malibu, and the next generation Impala. The move is expected to bring 2,500 new jobs to the plant, mostly made up of laid off UAW workers.
