It’s no secret that enthusiasts across America have been crying out for a sportier, punchier version of today’s Chevrolet Cruze. And wouldn’t you know it… there’s just the thing rolling out in China.
This limited edition Chevrolet Cruze Bumblebee Edition was built to commemorate the blockbuster Transformers movies, which is clearly evident with the unique graphics and Autobot badging all around the exterior, as well as the same striping scheme shared with the 2011 Camaro Bumblebee Edition sold here in America. But the kicker is of course a turbocharged 1.6L ECOTEC engine that provides 182-horsepower, which is 44 more horses than what we see in today’s range-topping 138-horsepower turbocharged 1.4L ECOTEC — which seems right on the money for the everyday consumer, but not nearly enough to grab the attention of the enthusiast niche. The vehicle is expected to launch in a matter of days.
Lose the tacky graphics. Give us the engine, perhaps in something looking like this. Pretty please, and thank you.

I think 182 isn’t enough for SS…. maybe use the 220 hp from the Regal
Definitely not enough for an SS (or whatever the high-performance version will be called). It needs the low-output 2.0 Turbo from the Regal.
I’m sure in a matter of days word will come from GM/Chevy: “In 2014, the Cruze will have a 1.6L 182hp engine for NA market”.
Even if this is a hi-performance version, it still looks to be wearing the 16-inch wheels… Which aren’t very high in performance…
