While reported talk of the upcoming Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 being prepped to produce over 550 ponies has been around for a month now, it remained anyone’s guess as to just how much the muscle car’s supercharged LSA engine will indeed punch out. But from what LSXTV is saying, that number could land at 570 hp, or 20 more than the rival Ford Mustang GT 500, and 14 more than the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe. Considering the CTS-V and the ZL1 share the same engine, it would be nice to see such a power boost under the hood of the Caddy as well, just to shove it to the Germans one last time before the next generation model rolls out. Meanwhile, a 505 hp Corvette Z06 awaits a worthy owner.

Did you notice a trend here. Engines in Camaro being more powerfull than in CTS, I wonder if the Camaro chassis is more roomy and allows better flowing exhaust system, headers ecc?
finally the camaro is getting the right engine that is equal with its reputation. I hope they do it with two systems (Manual + Automatic) transmission. that will increase the range of sales.
