GM Shows Off Electric Chevrolet Beat In India

As reported earlier, GM India has gone on to reveal its electric Chevrolet Beat (Spark) in New Delhi. Before we get carried away though, we should mention that this EV Beat is simply a one-off, and is part of an ongoing study on the feasibility of electric vehicles in urban areas.

The 45 kW (60 horsepower) battery aboard this special Beat is capable of 130 kilometers (81 miles) on a full charge and takes exactly eight hours using a 240-volt outlet to recharge from being completely empty. It is composed of a liquid-cooled lithium-ion setup, weighs in at 595 pounds and is rated at 20 kWh. For more, have a look at the presser.

  1. I sure wish GM would throw us a new bone (with lots of meat on it), about new information on the Spark coming to the US in the first quarter of 2012 (as a 2013 MY).
I’m curious to know how the US version will be different from the European version and the options that will be available.
    Until then… we wait. (O.o)
