In a time when demand for used cars is growing, GM officially retired its GM Certified Used Vehicle program to replace it with GM Certified Pre-Owned. The new program for used pre-owned Buick, Chevrolet, and GMC models offers several new features for certified vehicles.
The big news here is Owner Care — a two-year/30,000-mile vehicle maintenance program that’s standard on all GM Certified Pre-Owned vehicles. Owner Care will cover oil changes, tire rotations, and multi-point vehicle inspections at no charge. What’s more, GM has raised the bar for a vehicle to become GM Certified Pre-Owned, increasing inspection from 117 to 172 points.
The program will continue to offer a 12-month/12,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, a five-year/100,000 mile limited powertrain warranty with 24-hour roadside assistance and courtesy transportation, as well as — of course — trials of OnStar and Sirius/XM Satellite Radio.
“Customers demand more value for their money, and we have responded. We believe our enhanced program offers our customers an outstanding experience from the moment they drive their Chevrolet, Buick or GMC Certified Pre-Owned vehicle off of the lot,” said Jennifer Costabile, general director of marketing and sales support, GM Fleet and Commercial Operations.
Cadillac’s Certified Pre-Owned program will continue.
