Chevrolet has released pricing for the attractive and utilitarian Cruze hatchback before the vehicle goes on sale next month in the United Kingdom with a starting price of £13,995 for the 1.6-liter equipped LS model.
The 1.6-liter engine is rated at 122 horsepower, with the LS package bringing air-conditioning, remote locks, electric-front windows, and an auxiliary input to the table.
Next up is the 1.6L LT for £14,895, which builds on the LS with cruise control, all electric windows, a multi-function trip computer, parking distance sensors, 16-inch alloys, a leather steering wheel, and a matching leather shift knob. Topping off the gas range is the LTZ powered by the 139 HP 1.8 liter featuring Bluetooth, a USB port, rain-sensing windshield wipers, automatic headlights, an electro-chromatic rear view mirror, 17-inch alloys, and aluminium-effect trim on the instrument panel.
The diesel range for the Cruze hatch starts at £17,195 for the 163 HP 2.0L VCDi LT model. As far as features go, the 2.0 liter LT gets the same features as the 1.6 liter LT gas model. For only £600 more, you can step up to the 2.0 liter VCDi LTZ that comes with the same features as the 1.8-liter LTZ gas model. The LTZ diesel also gets a package called the LTZ Executive Pack, which includes leather trim, satellite navigation, and heated front seats; it starts around £19,295. As a comparison, the Ford Focus currently sells in Britain for £16,000 plus.
Fingers crossed for a North American launch.

So… where is the hatchback model being made anyway?
Well, the Cruze is made globally in the following locations:
Australia: Elizabeth, South Australia
Brazil: São Caetano do Sul, São Paulo
China: Shenyang, Liaoning
India: Halol, Gujarat
Kazakhstan: Ust-Kamenogorsk
Russia: Saint Petersburg
South Korea: Bupyeong-gu, Incheon
Thailand: Rayong
United States: Lordstown, Ohio
I think the European-market Cruze (sedan and hatch) is made in South Korea.
All the other locations are market/region specific:
Russia and Kazakhstan plants supply the Russian/ex-USSR markets
China supplies Chinese market, as does India the Indian market
Brazil takes care of South and Central America
Thailand supplies Taiwanese and surrounding regions
Australia takes care of all Holdens, and
The US makes the Cruze for North America
yes Alex u are right, the Cruze for european market is made in kOREA, for french market for exemple the cars arrive by boat in Antwerpen (belgium).
The problem is that i f u want for exemple a Cruze with special features (exemple Automatic transaxle, or a paint color that is not in Antwerpen ) u must order the car ant the wait is about 6 months!. For my Red CRUZE 2.0 diesel in red color i wait 5 months
Five months! That’s crazy! That speaks of a major supply issue. They need to start building these things locally in Europe somewhere. Maybe in Antwerp? 🙂
WoW! =:-O
Thanks guys, I didn’t know that.
I guess this leads me up to my next question:
“Where does GM get its information on whether or not hatchbacks would be marketable in the US?” I mean, I wish they would have asked me.

Yeah, I just think they’re more conservative now… I don’t think that’s a good thing — quite the opposite, actually.
