The General will be trickling $47 million into its Powertrain facility in Defiance, Ohio to retool the plant in order to increase production of the 1.4L ECOTEC engine featured in the Chevy Cruze and upcoming Sonic. Part of the funds will also go into the production of GM’s next generation small block engines.
