Alongside the Chevrolet Colorado Rally Concept, the Bowtie brand has revealed something called the Cobalt Concept at the 5th Annual International Motor Show in Buenos Aires, Argentina, but it’s not the Cobalt as we Americans know it. Rather, it’s the same mystery vehicle that was photographed back in March.
Judging by the shrunken dimensions and the facial resemblance to the Chevy Agile hatchback, it’s a safe bet that this particular Cobalt rides on the Gamma II platform. The interior also resembles the likeness of the all-new Gamma II-based Aveo/Sonic with its motorcycle-inspired gauge cluster, but the navigation and Rear Seat Entertainment systems are a welcome surprise. Though chances are such features will not see production.
Mechanically the engines will range between 1.3 to 1.8 liter four-pots, among them some capable of running on E85 ethanol while others diesel. Unfortunately a launch date was not included in the press release, which was translated from Spanish.
But out of all names, why the Cobalt?

The more I look at this thing, the more I believe that this is a sedan version of the South American Chevy Agile… but with a few updates like the new Chevy steering wheel and other family parts.
I think it was the same car that was spied back in March…
Wow, yeah it definitely is.
What does this mean is GM not going to consolidate their brands and name plates or are we going to get a new Cobalt as well this is just confusing.
This is a South America only deal… May also be available in ither developing counties (India, China).
And it will probably not be called Cobalt. In fact, I’m pretty sure it’s just an updated Chevy Sail.
it kinda looks like an Aveo on the side
If its about the same size as the Chevrolet Sonic, they should have put in mind that they could have put the navigation system on the Sonic, if they’re riding on the same Gamma II Platform…
