Cadillac Euthanizes STS Sedan

As time went on, it became clear that the Cadillac STS wasn’t aging well, and was becoming an old dog with little remaining uses for this world. And just last week, General Motors decided that it was time for the STS to be put out to pasture, making room on the Lansing Grand River assembly line for the upcoming ATS, which is slated to launch next year.

The plant will temporarily shut down for 1 1/2 months starting early this June in order to retool the plant for the Alpha platform.

  1. Just more proof that the ATS isn’t vaporware. Im glad to see the STS finally go. It wasn’t right for Cadillac. The original concepts looked incredible but Caddy thought the Art & Science theme needed to mature. Little did they know that just a short time away the theme would become as edgy as it has ever been. The STS was a bland dud and Cadillac failed to update it to keep it competitive. But now the CTS is moving where the STS should have been so getting rid of this appliance couldnt make anymore sense. Lets hope the ATS continues Cadillac’s recent success.
