NYIAS 2011: Buick, GMC Announce Intellilink Infotainment System For 2012 Models

After a General Motors filing for the IntelliLink trademark emerged, it left us wondering if the MyLink infotainment system would see a name change due to the fact that the trademark description sounded exactly like that for the MyLink system. Today, we find out that IntelliLink will not be used as a name to replace MyLink, but rather the designated system name for what will be offered in Buick and GMC models.

Buick will offer the infotainment system — which is essentially identical to Chevrolet MyLink — beginning with the 2012 LaCrosse, Regal and Verano. It will allow users to perform voice commands (such as dialing a name/number and selecting audio), the use of Pandora Internet radio and Stitcher SmartRadio, as well as an overall tight integration with the user’s smartphone via Bluetooth or USB cable. Additionally, GMC will make its Intellilink debut in the 2012 Terrain.

We feel the name could use a few more l’s and i’s.
