  2. Seems like everything that comes on the market degrades after version 1.0
I bought a 2011 Cruze Eco because I got rid of my 1999 Dodge Dakota V-8, which I bought in 2004.
The Malabo is another example of bigger and faster because the Cruze is to small/ slow! (can you one-up this)

All the auto companies do this, flooding the highways with “my model is better than your model”. If the automakers would simply concentrate on a reasonably priced EV for the average poor person and not try to sell a inflated priced Volt, Leaf, Prius.

Automakers are using Microsoft’s approach, Get a new version out before the last model / version wears out.

The consumer will never be able to keep up with technology, because there is new and improved model always on the way.
Automakers waste carbon building vehicles just to keep up with what the other guy is offering “NOW”. This is what got us in this mess in the first place. How soon we forget!

Are we ready for $5.00.9 a gallon gas! I’m ready for a electric vehicle I can afford to purchase and drive.

BTW when I was 19 years old I owned a 1948 6 cyl Plymouth that got 26 mpg.

  3. 1. Malibu and Cruze (Cobalt) only got better. 2. The Volt that costs 41K, costs over 37k to make. 3. What is wrong with better technology?(Better techonology means you can make things cheaper like the next generation Volt!)…Dennis

  4. Nothing wrong with technology improving products if folks are happy buying a new car every couple of years to keep up with the wizz-bang goodies.
I bought the 18-K Cruze because I can’t afford a 40-K Volt . Like I mentioned, it seems like everything is always the Beta model. $40-K to me isn’t cheaper.

    1. Yeah, early adopters are part of the high rate of innovation (or at least) progress. But eventually, the masses need to buy into a product/technology for price to drop to mainstream levels; conversely, mainstream price levels won’t come until enough people buy the car. I guess it’s a a pure chicken-egg situation…

  5. And also now Volt is having the “Limited availability” charge where it’s 2-3 grand higher than the MSRP it’s kinda ridiculous.
