Chevrolet Volt, OnStar Take Home Edison Awards

General Motors has walked away with a gold and silver medal from the 2011 Edison Awards. Named after Thomas Edison (duh), the awards represent the persistence and excellence of companies introducing new technologies.

GM got the Edison gold award for the Chevrolet Volt due to its innovations in transportation. They also took home a Edison silver award for OnStar MyLink for its innovations in driving aid technolgy. This is OnStar’s second Edison Award. Back in 2010, OnStar won an Edison silver award for their Stolen Vehicle Slowdown technology.
