Billboard.com And Chevrolet Have Become Ryan Seacrest And Randy Jackson

Chevy is sponsoring a contest through Billboard.com called “Cruze-ing to Vegas”.  Take a moment to stop laughing at their amazing pun.

18 bands you never heard of, probably from the midwest, are going to compete for “the ultimate prize”… a fake title from Billboard.com. Winners of this surefire hit will be awarded “Dreamseeker Artist of the Year” at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards, which will air on ABC May 22nd.

Not unlike the ridciulous SXSW contest held recently, the bands will be given a Cruze to bum around the US, playing concerts while being videotaped like an experimentation animal in the ’70s. Those who care can vote for the least-awful entry on Billboard.com.

The 18 bands will be pared down to six before anyone gets a free ride from Chevy, so go vote early if you have a friend or relative involved. You can bet GMAuthority will tell you all about it once this contest ends, as we can only hope more people tattoo themselves for the contest.
