In its currently limited market, the Chevrolet Volt managed 608 deliveries for the month of March 2011, which is a big jump seen from the 281 sales observed in February 2011. Total Volt sales now tally at 1,536, while its all-electric rival, the Nissan LEAF lands in at only 471 units sold.

Yes, but you can’t seriously compare the Volt to the Leaf.
The Volt has a gasoline engine to run the car when the batteries are close to depletion while the Leaf is 100% electric.
A better “Apples-to-Apples” would be to compare the EV1 to the Leaf, where the playing field is more equal.
I agree! But the consumers will probably compare the two anyway… it’s a GM challenge to communicate the Volt’s benefits and advantages to the consumer, who usually doesn’t really do that much research.
