Upon the first unveiling of the next generation Chevrolet Malibu and its presence at both the New York and Shanghai auto shows, it was clear that it was bound to be a global vehicle, one that would be sold in over 100 countries. But America will not be first on the list.
As it turns out, the launch of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu will actually begin this fall in South Korea first, followed by China this winter and then the January 2012 launch in the United States. While the launch times are fairly close between the three, does anybody else find it a surprise that the new and global ‘Bu won’t be sold in its home country first?

The Camry is king in the US, Chevrolet is a damaged brand here; but not in Asia.
This is smart buiseness, if the Bu were launched in the US first the press would either pan or ignore it, no matter how good it was. As an exotic foreighn brand the Chevrolet has a head start in Asia, and if it’s as good as the Regal the reviews from the far east will be quote worthy, in the US advertising.
