For the 2012 model year, Caddy has elected to give the CTS V6 portfolio a modest refresh, including a revised front fascia. However, the Sigma II-based Caddy will no longer offer the six-speed manual transmission in the 3.6-liter Premium and Performance models that customers can currently opt for in the 2011 model. We can only guess the reason for this is due to the fact that very few CTS 3.6-liter Premium and Performance models were sold with the manual. Don’t worry, Cadillac will still offer the six-speed where it counts in the CTS-V.
If only they got rid of the base 3.0L V6 engine for the 2012 model year, as the engine is seemingly meaningless for the segment the CTS competes in.

Well, I wouldn’t call the 3.0 totally meaningless; the 528i has a 3.0 making 240 horses and 230 lb.-ft. of torque… although it’s mated to an eight-speed auto…
Just in time I am curious did gm mention anything as far as power train goes I mean the updated 3.6 engine with the 330 hp that is suppose to be in the refreshed camaro???
We’ll see! It would sure make sense to stick the 3.6 LFX in the CTS!
One of the biggest complaints (from me, anyway) about the CTS is the tremendous unrefined nature of the injectors. The LFX fixes that while increasing power and refinement. I see no reason not to use the LFX in the 12 CTS.
No the CTS is rated at 318 bhp, the exhausts are more restrictive, but allas the suspention is so much better for it, annyway; the CTS is the new STS meaning Comfy Couch, so when the ATS debuts; it will be the hard muscled corner carving 3 series competetor, That car should have manual transmisions available with every engine. I hope!
When will we see pics of the 2012 CTS?
Not sure. Maybe at New York… But maybe not — from what I hear, Caddy won’t even host a conference at NY – which usually means they’ve got nothin’ to say!
The grill gm slapped on the 2012 cts is hideous, bigger is not always better ugggh I don’t even want one anymore I will settle for the 2011.
Is it really bigger? I didn’t realize that!
It’s bulkier look at the far bottom of the grill , the 3D affect with crest is a nice touch ,I have to see this car in person as soon as it makes it to the showrooms…..
