Spied: First Photos Of Cadillac ATS In The Metal

And it’s about damn time, too! After spy shots of test mules, apparent leaked spec. sheets and even reports on just how many forms will take shape, followed by obnoxious quotes from GM CEO Dan Akerson himself, we finally, finally get a first look at the highly anticipated BMW 3-Series fighter from Caddy.

So what if it’s all cloaked up and we can’t get a good visual of what the ATS looks like naked? It still counts.

  1. Some folks earlier had thought this was the XTS mule: http://gmauthority.com/blog/2011/01/spied-are-you-the-cadillac-xts-or-something-else/

Or even a new Chevrolet Zeta Sedan: http://gmauthority.com/blog/2011/01/were-calling-it-recent-spy-photos-of-cloaked-sedan-is-rwd-zeta-bound-for-chevrolet/

Though I figured it was way too small, and out of proportion to be an XTS (or even a Zeta).

(No – I’m not doing the “I told ya so”, but……..LOL)

Hopefully we’ll see this premiered at the 2012 NAIAS.

        1. The ATS is in its IVER stage, which means it currently has two years at most before it sees production.

        2. Mike — do you have to buy this year? If you could wait about a year and a half (till 2013/2014 model years), you’ll see an influx of new cars and trucks from GM — including all-new ATS, CTS, and Camaro. You also may even see a full-sized Buick. But if you can’t wait that long, by all means go with the CTS. It’s a great car. The only thing that I take issue with is its “tweener” state of mind — it’s not really a 3-series fighter (too big) nor is it a true 5-series competitor (not enough luxury/engine choices).
