When the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze appears in showrooms across the U.S. later this year, it will offer five new body colors. The new hues will join a number of rolling updates to the ’12 Delta II-based sedan, including the addition of (optional) push-button start with keyless entry as well as the (also optional) color touchscreen.
According to GM Authority sources, the colors — consisting of three blues, a bright red, and an orange metallic — will be named Luxo Blue, Imperial Blue, Evolution Blue, Victory Red, and Orange Metallic. We don’t yet know whether the addition of the three blue colors signifies the demise of the current baby blue (read: Ice Blue Metallic) paint.
Moreover, we’ve already known for about two weeks that the 2012 Cruze will do away with the present-day metallic black color (read Black Granite Metallic) and will most likely replaced it with a black sans the metallic chips.
The GM Authority Take
If Orange Metallic is even remote similar to the totally awesome color seen on the Chevy Cruze Z-Spec Concept, we’d admit to drooling all over it… probably more than once twice.
