Behold the bona fide Chevy fleece jacket. This fine piece of clothing is a licensed GM product that’s been tasked with keeping yours truly warm during these (occasionally) cold Colorado winters.
The Genuine GM-licensed apparel product is made by Dunbrooke with the Chevy logo and is available in black, navy (pictured), red, and taupe from Chevy dealerships around the country. Besides the proudly-embroidered gold Chevy bow tie on the top left, my favorite aspect of this anti-cold-weather solution are the materials: the shell is 100 percent nylon — making it durable, breathable, water-resistant, and light, while the fleece lining is 100 percent polyester.
Both materials do a great job to keep the wearer warm in the ultimate of sub-zero weather conditions. What’s more, the two pockets — one on each side of the coat — are deep and spacious, making them great for stowing keys, gadgets, or wallets without having to worry about the items falling out.
All in all, the get up is comfy as all heck — and looks great — regardless of whether you own a Chevy or not. The price? Go ask your dealer. Made in China. Highly recommended.

The Jacket does look nice, however I do not agree with the Made in China statement. If you havn’t noticed North America has lost thousand’s upon thousand’s of job’s to the chinease, not to mention the auto job’s that have left for their as well. General Motors is a North American company the least they could do is have their clothing manufactured here in North America, maybe then just maybe it would bring some more job’s back to North America and those people that receive those job’s will pump some money in the economy, might even have enough money to purchase a chevy!!!
Nobody likes that jobs are always outsourced to countries where its people are willing to work for a fraction of the American standard… but if the jacket was made in the USA, it could cost up to 3x as much. Who is going to buy a fleece jacket that expensive? Let alone buy it over the cheaper one made elsewhere?
Second, GM isn’t in charge of manufacturing merchandise like this. It is merely licensed by GM.
Jason — the “Made in China. Highly Recommended” statement was my feebly sarcastic attempt at some sort of irony. No harm no foul.
That said, we need to embrace the new-world economic environment — which includes China and tons of outsourcing. The comfortable lifestyle of the U.S. and Canada has led to increased manufacturing, production, engineering, and development costs — not only in the auto industry, but in almost every single major industry that has a global reach. The only way that the U.S. and Canada will be able to sustain our current lifestyles is to move away from manufacturing/production and into information development/creation — which is less labor intensive and less tangible. I understand that this is far from what many want to hear. I understand that people have mouths to feed and families to provide for. But things are only going to get “worse” for North American manufacturing. The sooner we all embrace and come to terms with this, the better we’ll be off.
