GM’s Shreveport assembly plant will be back up to speed on Monday after a weeklong shutdown related to parts shortages. The plant was closed due to a shortage of manual transmissions from Japan which are used in the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups that are assembled at the plant. UAW head of the Shreveport plant, Doug Ebey, said that the 800 employees will be returning to their four day work week.
