After 12 straight hours of brutal and unrelenting racing, the Corvette Racing team managed to finish ahead of both the Ferrari and Porsche racing teams to finish 3rd and 4th at Sebring International Raceway yesterday night.
But even without the win, it’s an improvement from last year.
After a great start by Oliver Gavin with the no.03 C6R, who jumped ahead of the GT class pack by as much as nearly three whole seconds, the car fell back into the back due to traffic and friction from other teams. But as the race dragged on, the no.4 C6R piloted by Olivier Beretta, Antonio Garcia and Tommy Milner lured in enough laps to earn a 3rd place win, just behind the pair of BMW M3 GT racers, finishing with 312 laps. Gavin, Jan Magnussen and Richard Westbrook with the no.3 C6R finished just after with 311 laps.
Don’t forget to tune in on Saturday, April 16 for the American Le Mans at Long Beach for more Corvette Racing action.
