General Motors quietly removed its jerky Volt slogan “It’s More Car than Electric” from its ads to replace it with the boastful line as Motor Trend’s North American Car of the Year instead.
Watchers of NBC’s Hulu program have already seen the new ads, missing the tagline on their web streaming videos. GM will likely follow suit in all other Volt commercials, on broadcast television, preceding movings, and so on.
Did GM’s advertising agency understand that their previous campaign was iffy-at-best? Probably not, we figure they just wanted to brag about the award.
