Accident Watch: Chevy Lanos vs. Infiniti M35

Ever wonder how much damage a lowly Chevy Lanos (aka Daewoo Lanos) could do to a high and much more expensive Infiniti M35? Wonder no more — since a head-on collision involving both cars took place on March 28 just outside of Moscow, Russia.

According to accident reports, the Infiniti was enjoying a nice drive on Highway Rubleva when the Lanos made its way over the median and hit the M35 head on. As you can see from the video below, both cars are banged up in their own special way. The Infinit’s got its front right end smashed to the frame while the Daewoo (masquerading as a Chevrolet) received significant trauma to its entire right side.

Since it is a Tuesday, we thought it a great time to bring some international perspective to the readers of GM Authority… since, you know, we erroneously coined the International Tuesday event right on the spot.

Extra points if you can understand the video… and a big hat tip to Sergey.

  1. Looks like the Datsun is totaled.
that little Korean GM product probably weighs 30 to 90 pounds less than the much larger Datsun, the Datsun probably has better steering feel, the Daewoo probably protects occupants better in a crash for like 1/3 the price.

    1. Lol are you looking at the same video, the G35 cabin is still intact with all four windows untoched and the front crumple zone worked like it was supposed to. Mean while the POS Chevy frame has been damaged offering little protection to whoever was sitting on that side. A G35 frame and structure is much stronger, compare them at any leading crash testing firm and you see which one is better.

      1. Dude, we’re not drawing any comparisons between the two – one is a fine modern day luxury vehicle (Infiniti) while the other is a 20 year-old Daewoo POS design badged as a Chevy… It was designed before Daewoo was bought by GM.

PS: the Infiniti is an M, not a G…
