While the first Chevrolet Volt is far from being available across the United States, speculation has already begun about the next generation Volt and how the car’s price will drop up to $7,500 — or the equivalent of the $7,500 tax credit already available on today’s Volt. While GM is still quiet on how much the next generation Volt will actually cost, we believe it is safe to say that we will at least see some sort of price drop. Additionally, the $7,500 tax credit will no longer apply after GM sells 200,000 qualifying vehicles. So get it while the gettin’ is good.

At the rate they’re selling now, will they sell 200k Volts before 2nd gen comes out? I would love a price drop AND tax credit…
