General Motors Europe has big plans for the Geneva Motor Show coming up in March with plans for Opel and Chevrolet to premier two new models and a concept.
Opel will introduce the production version of Ampera extended range electric vehicle alongside a refreshed Corsa hatch and Antara crossover. Also making an appearance for Opel will be the Zafira Tourer Concept — a car that’s been called a “lounge on wheels”.
“We’ve applied the lounge concept to a motor vehicle. A lounge is a place you want to escape to and relax, a place where you really want to be. We wanted to offer the same feeling in a monocab and make it the lounge you want to spend time in,” says Mark Adams, Vice President Opel/Vauxhall Design describing the design of the concept.
As for the Bow Tie, Chevrolet will debut the next-generation Aveo sedan for the European market, which goes by the name of Sonic in the Western Hemisphere. The sedan will share engines and transmissions with the five door model introduced last fall.
With Geneva starting on March 3rd, we’re also expecting a production version of the Chevrolet Cruze Hatch (show car pictured above).

The 2011 Geneva Motor Show was one of the best ones. I am eagerly anticipating the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
