  1. Surprisingly I like the verano. I like the 2.4 liter 177 hp powerplant over the chevy and it is enough in my opinion to warrant the buick version. The interior and exterior are nice too..

I say its a good car to place in the market.

I also believe the 220 hp four cylinder coming on line will make it pretty decent as far as acceleration.

Might be better than the regal. Is there a need for both? thats another question so what do you think?

Does buick need the Regal and the Verano?

    1. I agree, JB. it’s a great-looking car with a great exterior and interior. I think the engine and power numbers are irrelevant — this car is much more along the lines of a Lexus ES, but in a smaller package. And ES buyers don’t even know how many cylinders their car has (let alone what a cylinder is).

For the target market, silence and isolation from the road and NVH is crucial.

That said, I think the Regal is the odd car out. It was never meant to be a Buick and breaks the rules of a mainstream softrider with its sport injected this and autobahn that…

Now, if Buick retuned the Regal and its suspension by focusing on quiet, soft, and silent — then it would fit. At that point, the LaCrosse needs to become a few inches longer and wider — and Buick’s lineup is all set.
