Joel Ewanick, The General’s recently appointed global marketing bawss (pronounced “boss”) has used his authority to the fullest extent and officially appointed none other than Chris Perry, Chevrolet’s current marketing chief to the new role of vice president of U.S. marketing — overseeing Buick, Cadillac and GMC as well as Chevy. Perry will be filling in the space Ewanick left behind when he began his new global marketing role December 2010. Filling in Perry’s old shoes is Rick Scheidt, who is the current executive director for Chevrolet product marketing. Perry is also the fifth executive over the past 18 months to assume the role of U.S. marketing VP. Perry will take on his new responsibilities starting February 1st.Â
Other movements to note are John Schwegman, who leaves his Buick marketing responsibilities to be the sole marketing chief of GMC. Taking over his duties for Buick is Tony DiSalle, who will be ascending from his assignment as marketing director for the Chevrolet Volt.
