With all of this new EPA mileage mumbo-jumbo for vehicles using electric power, consumers may find themselves scratching their heads when inspecting an EV’s mileage sticker, finding that it has an miles-per-gallon rating, despite never needing a drop of gas. In the case of the Chevrolet Volt, it requires an even more complex sticker — one that shows both an MPG rating for gasoline operation and MPGe (“e” for equivalent) when using only electricity to propel the wheels. Thankfully, General Motors has taken the initiative to break down the new EPA sticker, making all of those blasted numbers much more digestible.

37 is stellar, I wonder if anny hypermile’ers are ready to try and beat barand F and brand T for the hall of fame overall hybred type fuel ecconomy record. A year or two ago someone in a brand F sedan did 80 odd mpg, I think with Volt’s gearing, charging and engine duty cycle; we could push 100mpg starting with a depleted battery. It would be a challange, it would be good PR, it would be good FUN!
