Video: Chevrolet Camaro Frolics In The Snow

It’s safe to say there’s a bit of an oxymoron at work here. What’s a Chevrolet Camaro doing in the snow? It’s no GMC Sierra HD, you would think that it would get stuck spinning around in place… wouldn’t it? Not if the driver behind the wheel is a professional and the course is closed.
Now we’re not recommending that you brave the next snowstorm with a Camaro — but if there are no alternatives in sight — it doesn’t seem to be that bad of a choice. And considering the Camaro Convertible starts production in the blistering cold month of January, why not show it a little snow?
- Sweepstakes Of The Month: Win a Corvette Z06 and 2024 Silverado. Details here.
My first car was a 1969 bright yellow Firebird Convertible with a worked 350. I used it in the mid seventies as a daily driver..
I drove in snow like that as a 17 year old kid. The only thing I made sure I had was studded snow tires out back…
I realize people enjoy their awd and fwd and rightly so…but back in the seventies….before fwd took off…
We just bought snow tires …Studded snows have been outlawed I think …but back then…they were awesome..
On the days there was no snow…we did burn outs on dry pavement at night and it threw sparks out the back in the coolest ways..
i really believe anyone who wants a rear wheel drive vehicle as a daily driver …in the snowy parts of the country…Just needs a set of snow tires …
Not all season tires..but dedicated snows and you can go anywhere…(as long as the snows not too deep or the roads haven’t been plowed yet if it is kind of deep.)
Just my two cents (from a guy who drives a corvette in NY metro all winter except for maybe three days a year)
You forgot one thing, G80, Positraction My 88 Camaro Had Positraction, up to 7 or 8 inches of snow it would go, a bag or two of sand under the hatch, went well with the snow tires as well, I had a 76 Nova without positraction before that Camaro and it would’nt go annyware, walking was a better proposition, annyhow that 88 Camaro was a strange beast 305, 5sp T roof, Positraction, some iconoclast like me orderd it new I suppose, I bought it used in like 95. I am worried now though because last year my Canyon 4wd (allso G80 positraction) got totaled, Now I make my commute excusevely in my 05 CTS base model (formerly an Enerprise rental car) no G80 I’m scared it’s going to be the Nova all over againe, hope I have enough sick days at work.
OMG
I went back and acctually wached the video,
It looks like a Canadian TOP GEAR
Could you immagine a Canadian Top Gear, maybee they would be frendlier to North American cars and car culture than Tanner and our own Yankee group of lads.
Just a thought, though a bit off topic, sorry.
