You know how artists only seem to become famous after they die? That seems to be the case with automotive brands as well. In this case, we’re talking about Pontiac.
The folks running the independent website BringPontiacBack.org seem to be constantly looking for evidence and reasons why GM should… well… bring Pontiac back. A cause we can no doubt stand behind.
Their latest report is a graph of Google keyword searches for Pontiac and for Buick. According to the chart, Pontiac’s keyword searches stand twice as tall as those for Buick, despite the latter brand still existing and gaining momentum in the market. Though we could observe that Pontiac also shares the same name with a city in Michigan, the website is quick to point out that it is very unlikely to be the reason for the increased search interest.

This is the most retarded statistical analysis I have ever seen. The trend is downward, fast. And that’s even considering the amount of old-car enthusiasts and replacement part searches that will always remain. Finally, Buick’s main audience is outside of the net which will grow over time.
It’s clear nobody cares about Pontiac being gone. Has your mother or the news brought it up since?
You know, when you call something retarded, you:
A) Shoot yourself in the foot
B) Make yourself look stupid
C) Ruin your case.
D) Make everyone not want to debate you, for the reasons above.
E) Support the opposite of what you intended.
So, thanks for fighting to keep Pontiac alive, SilverZ.
I pick A through D! Try to debate that! 🙂
