Meijer To Install EV Charging Stations At Select Supermarkets

Grand Rapids, MI-based supermarket chair Meijer is the latest to take a proactive step towards the future. While massive demand for plug-in-electric-vehicles has yet to take effect, Meijer knows that “plugging in” will be a big part of tranportation in the future. And for those planning on grocery shopping with a Chevrolet Volt in the coming months (or years,) this one is for you.

With an effort that began last month and will continue onward, Meijer is installing EV charging stations at the Holland and Allen Park, MI stores, joining the charging station that was unveiled at the Warren, MI store – the same city that nestles The General’s Tech Center.

The stations are manufactured by California-based Coulomb technologies and will offer both 120V and the speedier 240V charging options. Customers can use the stations at absolutely no cost to them. Additionally, Meijer plans to eventually expand the initiative to 10-20 more stores throughout the Midwest.
