Holden Recalls Commodore Sportwagon Over Rear Seat Issue

Holden is putting out a recall this week on 1500 Series II Commodore Sportwagons. The recall was issued due to a locking mechanism in back seat not locking properly which could cause the seat to collapse onto passengers in an accident or panic stop. The problem was found during internal testing and no incidents have been reported.

“Although this is very much a precautionary measure, it is our duty of care to inform customers as soon as an issue comes to light,” said Jonathan Rose, Holden’s senior product communications manager.

1500 Sportwagons built between November 12 to December 15 and carry VIN numbers ranging from 6G1E#8E###L501618 to 6G1E#8E###L521695 are affected in the recall. Dealers will do a free inspection on the wagon.
