During the Meeting the Clean Fuels Challenge in Houston, TX last week, General Motors managed to walk away with the Energy and Environmental Excellence Award from Hart Energy Publishing for the company’s boosted efforts to preserve the environment.
To win the award takes more than just producing gas misers and alternative energy vehicles like the Chevy Cruze and Volt. For example, the fact that GM is investing $40 million in various clean energy projects throughout America with a goal to reduce 8 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions probably had a big something to do with The General walking away with the trophy.
