Chevrolet Dealers Reviving COPO Spirit With Special Camaros

For those of you that remember the COPO days back in the 60s, this one is for you… and just about everyone else who would appreciate a little bit of dealer-tuned performance for their Chevy Camaro.

Chevrolet dealers DeNooyer Chevrolet (located in New York) and NeSmith Chevrolet (located in Georgia) have gone beyond the call and have begun offering exclusive, specialty Camaros featuring genuine GM Performance Parts at their respective locations.

Coming from DeNooyer is a Camaro SS featuring the LSX454 crate engine from GMPP, providing a fresh take on classic muscle and boasting 520 hp with 530 lb-ft. of torque. To handle the huge boost in power, the car is upgraded with stronger axles and bushings to help keep all of those horses in check. DeNooyer Chevrolet also teamed up with Redline Motorsports to offer another ‘roided out Camaro, which cradles the 505 hp LS7 as seen in the Corvette Z06.

However, the Camaro from NeSmith is even more powerful – featuring the Corvette ZR1’s almighty LS9 engine. Titled the “Storm Camaro”, this beast is reported to have nearly 700 horsepower at its disposal. Couple that with beefier drivetrain parts and a fancy six-piston brake package from Baer Brake Systems, and this Bow tie pony has thunder to go with the Storm.

Unfortunately, the prices are not disclosed – but those who are honestly serious about owning one of these missiles can check out the information provided in the presser below.
