425 Horsepower Vauxhall VXR8 Is Bloody Brilliant

Just look at this thing. When was the last time General Motors created something that looked as aggressive as this? Probably never. Well, okay, almost never.

The latest Vauxhall VXR8 is based on the Holden Commodore HSV E3 GTS, which launched just a few months ago in Australia. It also boasts a very American engine, cradling the potent 6.2L LS3 V8 that provides 425 hp and 405 lb.-ft. of torque to the rear wheels.

Her Majesty’s street rod is capable of 0-60 in 4.9 seconds, eclipsing more expensive cars like the BMW 5 Series in performance for a fraction of the cost. Unfortunately, us Yanks are just going to have to wait until we see a similar model emerge as a Chevy. For more on the new VXR8, check out the presser.
