Since its introduction in 2001, the Buick GL8 has been the gold standard in China for the MPV/minivan segment. GM looks to continue its success with the planned launch of the next generation of the GL8 at the end of the month.
The “executive wagon” (as Buick calls it) carries the design language seen from the Business Concept shown back in 2009 and also features a 3-D waterfall grill and Bi-Xenon HID headlamps, also seen in the Enclave and LaCrosse. Engine choices will include the 2.4-liter ECOTEC four-cylinder (LAF) found in the Equinox, Terrain, Regal, and LaCrosse producing 182 hp or a 3.0-liter SIDI V6 (LF3, found in the up-level Equinox and Terrain) producing 255 hp. Both engines will be mated to a 6-Speed automatic transmission. The GL8 also comes with Buick’s Quiet Tuning and OnStar and will be revealed on November 28. Set your calendar, ladies and gentlemen.
